The Souvenir Shop in KFR

Shopping is one of the norms of our daily lives. We buy clothes, food, fashion accessories, gifts; the list goes on but sometimes, shopping can also be a meaningful and beneficial experience for ourselves and others. Kechara’s dharma stores were conceptualised by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche with various locations in different malls across the Klang Valley and beyond.

When the building of the Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) started, the dharma store concept was integrated in the project so that guests who visit us for retreats, prayers, tours, etc, can also invite home holy images and other items.

In conjunction with two recent auspicious events – the 3rd Pastor Ordination Ceremony on 19th October and the Birthday of our Spiritual Advisor, H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, on 24th October – special promotions were in-store for the lucky shoppers and visitors in KFR.

Many guests attended both ceremonies and during the intervals, most were seen browsing the souvenir shop located just opposite the main reception of Wisdom Hall. The shop was crowded from morning till late night!

Preparing for the big day

New products prominently displayed in store

Modern and beautifully designed pendants

From Manjushri, Setrap to Shakyamuni… the souvenir shop offers a wide variety of statues to choose from

Earlybird shoppers from Malaysia and abroad.

The excitement was palpable as the newly arrived pendant designs were unveiled

Eric Siow patiently explains the significance of inviting home a Buddha image.

It’s so hard to choose a mala, there are so many beautiful designs to choose from! Hehe.

Kechara’s signature pendants are a huge attraction – whether for yourself or a gift for a friend

This is what you call irresistible. Even Dato’ Ruby Khong could not resist buying herself a pendant, even though she hardly wears them! Hehe.

A picture says a thousand words. Even our volunteers couldn’t resist inviting home these beautiful statues.

Our friends from Kuantan. Every time they passed the reception, they could not resist sneaking into the souvenir shop to take another look at the beautiful statues. And guess what? By the end of they day. they had invited home a 12” handcrafted Manjushri statue!

Happy customers

Our Singaporean guests took time off from their busy schedules to attend the event. Their sincerity and support is just beyond words.

Visitors from Kuantan

Look at the cheerful smiles on these faces. Our guests flew in all the way from Shanghai a few days earlier to volunteer, cook, clean and anything else that is needed. Their sincerity and humility is very touching.
