Rubber tapping

The Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) is inspired by a vision to create an authentic holistic lifestyle center where modern day spiritual aspirants can go for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of hectic city life.

Observing the exposure of modern society to processed food, emotional strain and intellectual stress, our spiritual guide, H.E Tsem Rinpoche, conceptualized a haven within the natural forests of Pahang, Malaysia where people can go to rest and heal their body, spirit and soul through our carefully crafted nature programs.

KFR is unique because it is created from the synergy of modern lifestyle and traditional philosophies of living.

We are now extending the opportunity to participate in this inviting, fun and effective wholesome-living program to adults and children alike with the following details:

Program Outline:

The rubber industry is one of the few main contributors to Malaysia’s economic prosperity. It is the platform through which our forefathers built the nation and a future. Through this exercise, participants will experience what tappers often describe as a dance with the rubber trees to extracts the latex.

9.00am – 10.00am: Breakfast

11.30am – 12.00noon: Break
12.00noon – 1.00pm: Nursery – Harvesting & planting saplings

The nursery is where new life begins. Here, participants submerge themselves in the energy of rejuvenation and creation. Through our program, we guide participants to “plant” the seeds of their goals and dreams… creating a new tempo and direction to their wholesome living.

1.00pm – 3.00pm: Lunch
3.00pm – 4.00pm: Gardening – landscaping principals, grounding saplings & garden care

Gardening is one of the best and most fulfilling activities on earth. The earth is our canvas and we are free to create and “paint” a picture of our home within the embrace of Mother Nature.

4.30pm – 5.30pm: Farming – Introduction
5.30pm – 6.00pm: Harmony in Nature Exercise

After spending a full day with nature, this exercise enables us to reflect and experience fully her beauty and the personal close connection we share with her. This exercise also allows us to release the burdens we carry.

Sunday

7.00am – 7.30am: Hot drinks at Dukkar Kitchen
7.30pm – 9.00am: Farming – Preparing the grounds, seed planting, climbing structures, watering.

Farming is the act of feeding the people with the safe, nutritious and delicious fruits of our generous Mother Nature. At KFR, farming goes back to the basics so that participants will bring home the right to access the best bounty of nature for their loved ones.

9.00am – 10.00am: Breakfast
10.00am – 11.30am: Farming – continuation
11.30am – 12.00noon: Break
12.00noon – 1.00pm: Cooking Green – Salad Wrap

Our body is our temple and one of the three fundamental ways we can care for it is through healthy and nutritious cooking. It is known and accepted that dining out has compromised our food quality. Thus, we want to give participants an experience of how easy it is to treat you to a nutritious quick-bite. Cooking is also the act of combining the flavors of nature to compose the most delicious meal for those we care about.
