So many people were excited to be at KFR!

What better way to celebrate the mooncake festival than under the moonlight at KFR! The KFR organizing team of volunteers headed by June Kang lined up a fun and Dharma packed itinerary for all 88 participants, who were greeted with lanterns and smiles upon arrival.

The evening started with candle offerings to Buddha Shakyamuni at the iconic tree. After offering their candles, they circumambulated the buttterlamp house three times while reciting the mantra of their choice.

Pastor Susan then led the group in prayers of Migtsema and Shantideva. After the prayers, the sun had set, the air was cool and everyone was in great spirits and ready for a delicious dinner.

When stomachs were filled, Anna Tan (a volunteer) took the children to another area where they played games. For the adults, Pastor Susan gave a brief introduction to KFR and the benefits it will bring to people, the meaning of a Lama’s mandala and how Kechara, Ladrang and KFR are within this mandala. Whatever involvement we make to KFR, from sponsorship to offering time and effort, it will bring multiple benefits, as it is part of the Lama’s mandala. Pastor Susan also highlighted that KFR was made possible by sponsors such as Datuk May and others and that every single person could become part of this historic making of KFR too.

Then, she led the group into a relaxation meditation and taught them the technique for relaxing and contemplating on how to use our lives in the most beneficial way . This meditation will help them focus and relax their mind wherever they are. This is a much-needed skill in our fast moving modern environment.

Everyone was relaxed after the meditation session, and to end off the evening, everyone had some delicious mooncake from Kechara Oasis. Soon it was time to go back to KL. Everyone started to pack up and walk out of the land to the bus and their cars. All were fulfilled and glad that they came to KFR to spend their Saturday evening.

Precious opportunity in Kechara Forest Retreat! "As Kechara Forest Retreat is a sacred land, filled with holy and blessed statues and many holy items, His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche encouraged Kecharians living and working in Kechara Forest Retreat to embark on a spiritual pilgrimage of its holy sites." ~Tsem Rinpoche

We have many outdoor sacred images of various Buddhas. The ones that were visited were Tsongkapa, Nageshvaraja, Loma Gyoma, Tara, Nagarakshasa and then back to Tsongkapa. At each location circumambulations and lamp offerings were done. We walked the vast land while chanting Migtseyma mantras. The very elderly followed to each location in cars. Kechara Forest retreat is 70 acres of land located in rural Bentong, one hour from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. ~Tsem Rinpoche For more information: http://www.tsemrinpoche.com
