Manjushri Sadhana Practice 22-23 March 2014

Apr 1, 2014 | Views: 221

Manjushri is the Sanskrit name for the Buddha of Wisdom, the embodiment of omniscient wisdom of all enlightened beings. In Chinese he is known as Wen-shu Pusa and in Tibetan Jampalyang. Manjushri has been regarded as the crown prince of the Buddha’s teachings, the one who best explains Buddha’s wisdom. Wisdom helps us see what needs to be done, what is to be abandoned and to dispel ignorance. Through Manjushri Sadhana practice, we receive clear energies to do this.

The first 2014 Manjushri Sadhana Practice organized by Kechara was conducted in the Kechara Forest Retreat over 2 days and 1 night on the 22 and 23 March, 2014. This program was open to all practitioners old and new, who would like to learn and benefit from Manjushri’s practice in a tranquil environment.

The program started with guest registration, check in and a quick orientation to outline the rules to be observed by all participants, including maintaining silence during the retreat. This was followed by a proper introduction to Buddha Manjushri and his practice, an explanation of the sadhana text and offerings, the prayer recitation schedule as well as the schedule of meditation and other activities throughout the program.

Stretching exercises are included in the programme for participants to stretch their legs after hours of sitting

Light chores are also part of the programme, so participants can practice gratitude – gratitude for being provided with a place for their spiritual practice and to engage in intensive practice for 2 days.

The programme participants stayed overnight in Dukkar Apartments, the guest accommodation in the Kechara Forest Retreat, and were served vegetarian meals specially prepared to cater to the dietary needs of the retreat participants.

The food was well received

As the Manjushri Sadhana Practice program came to an end, participants gathered to share how they felt about the programme and provide the organizers with much-valued feedback. Many expressed their sense of accomplishment after completing the 2 day retreat program. Most participants also loved the special vegetarian meals and in general, everyone found tranquil natural environment very conducive for spiritual practice. Many are already planning to join the Setrap Sadhana Practice programme in April or the Lama Tsongkhapa Sadhana Practice programme in May.

CK and Pam moderate another team.

Pastor Shin is also a moderator for the sharing session.

Powerful Dukkar or White Umbrella Puja “To cut asunder completely all malignant demons, to cut asunder all the spells of others…to turn aside all enemies and dangers and hatred...” Dukkar manifested from the crown of Buddha Shakyamuni as a personification of Buddha’s victory umbrella, and is commonly regarded as the female counterpart to Avalokiteshvara (Kuan Yin), the Buddha of Compassion. https://www.vajrasecrets.com/dukkar-puja-fund-for-legal-affairs, shared by Pastor Antoinette

A Slice of Heaven "Sponsor a lot of land in the Kechara Forest Retreat, which will go towards the cost of the land and the facilities being built therein. Your support will help make this meritorious project a reality. Contributing to the building of a monastery or a place of worship is a very meritorious act, as taught by the Buddha and many ancient masters that came before. As the Buddha described the benefits of building monasteries to King Sangyal, he taught that people who build monasteries will always have incredible wealth and power in future lives, and will eventually attain enlightenment. The great Indian yogi, Nagden Pawo also said that anyone who contributes to the building of a Buddhist institution, no matter how small that contribution is, even if it is just requesting others for donations, continuously collects tremendous merits even as they go about their daily lives". https://www.vajrasecrets.com/slice-of-heaven-fund - shared by Pastor Antoinette
