Kechara Forest Retreat Chinese New Year Open Day
Happy Chinese New Year 2016! For the Chinese New Year Open House, Kechara Forest Retreat were fortunate to have YB Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai and YB Senator Dato Hoh Khai Mun gracing our event. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by a lion dance performance before heading into Wisdom Hall to offer khatas to our Spiritual Guide, H.E the 25th Tsem Rinpoche’s throne.
Dato Sri Liow and Datuk May Phng, Kechara House’s President, then addressed the gathered crow with speeches before kicking off the complimentary dinner with yusheng (mixed shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments). Yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigour.
It was also a special occasion for Kecharians as it was our 1st flea market in Wisdom Hall. Due to the kindness and love of our Spiritual Guide, many were able to invite statues and special items home at a minimal contribution. The contributions are directed towards the maintenance of Kechara Forest Retreat. We are truly grateful to those who were part of it. Thank you!
May everyone’s year be prosperous and bountiful!
