2nd Update: 16 April 2012

Since the last update, there has been a lot done at the site. Are you all excited to see what’s been going on for the past few days? Even with the rain in the last two days, it did not stop our team and the workers from continuing with what needs to be done.

Finally, the cabins for Rinpoche and guests have been assembled into their positions; marquees have also been set up around the cabins, encased within mosquito netting. This is so that Rinpoche, the assistants and guests can enjoy the outdoors and the views without having to weather the outdoor elements.

Proper washrooms are also now set up, complete with all the necessary piping and plumbing. We also have piped water!

Below are more photos of the recent developments – enjoy!

How can you resist this view? Such a great view to start the day!

Workers assembling the structure for the temporary cabins.

It takes 8 strong men to lift and move the cabin into position!

View of where the cabin will be placed. Look at the stunning view of the beautiful mountains.

The washroom. There are even proper toilet seats, so we don’t need to dig holes to relieve ourselves!

The walls are being put up. All looking great!

Another view of the abode. Walls of the first cabin are up and the workers are pictured working on the second cabin.

Marquis set up so that Rinpoche and guests can enjoy the outdoors in the shade. Mosquito nets have been installed all around the sides because we don’t want mozzies attacking us!!

Tsem Ladrang emblem on the marquee.

Two more marquis to be set up and we’re done!

The contractor pulling electrical cables into the abode area. Let there be light!

The fog coming in late in the afternoon…..You gotta love the view of the rolling hills!

We have a visitor today! JP Thong (far left) with Jeffrey, Datuk May and Martin. JP is a Liaison to Rinpoche who is in charge of special projects. He visited the land today to check out KFR. Nice boots JP!

Finally, we are done for the day. All structures are up.

Datuk May, Jeffrey and Martin having a meeting about what else needs to be done until the handover of the abode to the Ladrang.

Bird’s eye view of the temporary abodes flanked by the stunning mountains and beautiful greens. Wouldn’t you want to be there?

Powerful Dukkar or White Umbrella Puja “To cut asunder completely all malignant demons, to cut asunder all the spells of others…to turn aside all enemies and dangers and hatred...” Dukkar manifested from the crown of Buddha Shakyamuni as a personification of Buddha’s victory umbrella, and is commonly regarded as the female counterpart to Avalokiteshvara (Kuan Yin), the Buddha of Compassion. https://www.vajrasecrets.com/dukkar-puja-fund-for-legal-affairs, shared by Pastor Antoinette

A Slice of Heaven "Sponsor a lot of land in the Kechara Forest Retreat, which will go towards the cost of the land and the facilities being built therein. Your support will help make this meritorious project a reality. Contributing to the building of a monastery or a place of worship is a very meritorious act, as taught by the Buddha and many ancient masters that came before. As the Buddha described the benefits of building monasteries to King Sangyal, he taught that people who build monasteries will always have incredible wealth and power in future lives, and will eventually attain enlightenment. The great Indian yogi, Nagden Pawo also said that anyone who contributes to the building of a Buddhist institution, no matter how small that contribution is, even if it is just requesting others for donations, continuously collects tremendous merits even as they go about their daily lives". https://www.vajrasecrets.com/slice-of-heaven-fund - shared by Pastor Antoinette
